Prof. D. Keith Bowen MA DPhil (Metallurgy) FREng FIMMM FInstP FRS
Emeritus Professor of Engineering, University of Warwick
Visiting Professor in Physics, University of Durham
Honorary Fellow, St Edmund Hall, OxfordScience and engineering occupied most of my career (when I wasn’t playing the clarinet). My main fields of research were materials science, X-ray science and technology, nanotechnology and instrumentation.
Now that I have retired from my academic and industrial posts, I do occasional consultancy in my technical fields and in advising investors on technical due diligence for start-up companies. I act as Non-Executive Director of such companies on occasion, and also serve on various committees of the Royal Society.
The rest of my time I spend on performance and research in music, which you can find on music.keithbowen.net.
